Great White Sharks Attack Fishing Boat
According to officials, a great white shark attacked a fishing boat off the coast of Santa Cruz Sunday morning.
The attack happened just before 9 a.m. when the shark bit through the side of the boat, said California Department of Fish and Wildlife spokesperson Peter Tira.
The four people on board, all men, were not injured in the attack. They were able to get the boat to shore and contacted authorities.
Tira said it was unclear if the shark was attracted to the boat by something that was being fished or if it was simply curiosity that led it to bite the vessel.
